Hello! hottestsara1
I have a DSL ISP and I am using a Linksys WRT150N Router Version 1.1 as seen here:
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1175233984378&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=8437839789B01
I am having a problem with it... The Router will quit working after every 12-48 hours and when that happens I cant even log in to the Router Untill I unplug and plug back in the Router.
I have asked about the Router in other IRC Chat Rooms and they seem to figure that the TCP stack gets overloaded and nothing will work until I restart the Router...
So I have a old PC just sitting in the office on the floor not being used at all. It is a Intel CPU P233 with MMX, 64MB of Ram, 16MB 3DFX PCI Video Card, Sound Blaster PCI card, 1 PCI Networking card, 2 Hard Drives a 8GB HD and a 4GB HD, Floppy Drive, a newer 48x CD-ROM and it currently has MS Winblows 98 SE on it.
Now I wanted to know IF I can (And even should?) use the PC as the Router and use the Linksys Router as a Hub ? I have all 4 wired ports used on the Router, Also I NEED the WireLess Internet to work on the Router. If so What Linux Router DISTRO should I use? I have heard of IPCOP BUT I think U have to Install that one to the Hard Drive... I was looking at one called Devil Linux where U can run that right from the CD and store the Config on a disk (www.devil-linux.org) Does anyone know if U can log in to Devil Linux from the network and change settings with out actually being on that PC?
So Please Help Me with what to do to fix my problem? Thanks!
