- Hello,
- I am working to package genpo for inclusion in the Ubuntu repositories (0), and intend to submit it for inclusion in Debian as well. I'd like to solicit any input you might have on the preferred default configuration, etc. so as to ensure that users first experience genpo as it was meant to be.
- I have been reviewing the genpo tarball (1), and encoutered a few things that worried me regarding the copyright and licensing of the package, as I must follow the Debian Free Software Guidelines (2) when selecting packages. Could you please confirm the following:
- 1) The README says "Free & Open source", but I don't see any license file, or statement of a specific license. I'm guessing you intend to use the GPL (3), given that the files in src/ have a GPL header, but if this is the case, I think you need to distribute the license file (4)
- 2) The files appear to be copyright 2003, but some have been updated much more recently. Are these now copytight 2003-2007?
- 3) I don't see any license information for the ORGANS/ directory. Are these also GPL? If so, my understanding is that they also need header comments, or otherwise be specifically described as so licensed.
- I'd really like to get genpo into the repositories. Please let me know if I can help in any way to resolve this.
- Thank you.
