- ipcheck setup
- Sunday, May 20th, 2007 at 7:00:48pm UTC
- 1. sudo apt-get install ipcheck
- 2. Go to the directory where you want the program 'ipcheck' to store its files. When there open a terminal ([f4] key if you are in Konqueror) and run 'sudo ipcheck' to begin the setup.
- 3. Then paste this into your root's crontab (all one line)
- 00 */2 * * * /usr/sbin/ipcheck -d /home/eljefe/bigboi/Linux -l -r checkip.dyndns.org:8245 dyndnsusername 'password' dyndns.accountdomain.org
- (add that line ^ to the root's crontab (sudo crontab -e))
- edit the following parts to match your own account:
- -d /path/to/store/files if you don't want them in your home directory (clutter)
- dyndnsusername this should be how you log in to DynDNS
- 'password' this is the password you use to log in
- dyndns.accountdomain.org this should be your actual DynDNS domain name, which you set up at account creation time
