- OK sorry I have to disappear, however here are some instructions:
- 1) obtain and install mc
- a) wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/m/mc/mc_4.6.0-4.6.1-pre1-3ubuntu1_i386.deb
- b) sudo dpkg -i mc_4.6.0-4.6.1-pre1-3ubuntu1_i386.deb
- 2) edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- a) mcedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf (this will open an editor with the file in)
- b) add the following to the top of the file
- Section ServerFlags
- "Option" "AllowMouseOpenFail" "true"
- EndSection
- c) save the file (F2)
- d) exit mc (F10)
- 3) reboot
- This means that your X server should work - your mouse may not, I will be back later so if you cant find anyone to help talk to me then, however that bit can be a bit of trial and error. If you have a usb mouse you can use in the meantime that will work.
- Hope that helps
