HelloSure I can give u the zttest results and they are at the end of this mail. But first let me tell u what I had conceded from the yesterdays excersise. We have our own digital cross connect (DXX) network in pakistan which expands about 50 cities so what I did was that I connected the te110p card to the DXX node from loop telecom the card came out of alarm right away which means that e1 interface of te110p card was not faulty and there was no problem but the pri show span command tells me that pri is down which was obvious as there was no other end pri card availible. But when I connect the te110p card to nortel meredian option 11c ntbk50aa card the te110p card does not come out of alarm and the alarm shows red/rec or red/yellow/rec which concluded that the e1 was not up so I checked the meredian card ntbk50aa with nortel's another device that is passport 7440's MVPE card which is again an isdn pri card but they work perfectly fine.So both the card were confirmed from different media that they are alright. Now from this I have to see what I was doing wrong with the e1 command of the asterisk as with the meredian I again checked it with the local PSTN ISDN PRI the card was again right ( to ensure further I tried on two different cards of meredian i.e ntbk50aa is the name of meredian card)So I checked different option that I can use with the span command of zatel.conf file so I tried these different options.Span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4,yellowSpan=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3,crc4Span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3Span=1,0,0,ccs,hdb3Now about the options that I tried when I checked the meredian with passport 7440 and meredian card worked fine the configuration that I did on the passport end was ccs,crc4 ,euroisdn (etsigeneric)(but this stage is never reached in asterisk the e1 does not come up so d-channel negociation will not occur any way ), , what I was not able to confirm in the passport is that whether "hdb3" was used or "ami" was used now after writing u this mail I might try this also. Why I used hdb3 is bcz my seniors told me tha passport was using hdb3 but we never say any configuration related to this.So based on these asumptions I used these options in the span command but the e1 does not come up.I tried once again to check the asterisk card te110p with a RAS (remote access server) of lucent max (which was known for its compatability with pstn isdn pri we never had a problem linking the lucent max with the PSTN ISDN PRI which we use in different cities for dial up) but here there was an improvement the te110p card show that it is in yellow alarm but again it does not come out of alarm and which means that e1 is not up hence d-channel negociation can not take place. As the isdn pri is an application that works above e1 interface so for isdn pri to work e1 interface should be in working condition first.I again tried the asterisk te110p card with nortel passport and there te110p card shows that e1 is sync with the passport MVPE card and d-channel negociation took place and ISDN PRI came up but right after a minute it went down and kept on flickring up and down this was either an issue related to the isdn pri d-channel signalling, switchtype which I am also curious about that how shold I define the variant of switchtype in asterisk as the passport was using euroisdn with variant etsigeneric or when I look at the passport end it shows that los of frame condition has occurred which exactly do not know but with the exercise with dxx node I came to an idea that it might be an issue with e1 interface again. So after all the above pain taking things that I did my conclusion was that there is problem with e1 , now I do not know exactly what it is but unless and until I bring the e1 up the isdn is not going to work.If u can help I will be very pleased and to tell u the truth I will surely be able to bring some business to digium if this thing works.
