Anonymous Freedom of Speech (AFoS) is an anonymous message board or forum, accessible exclusively through the Tor network.
Tor is "a toolset for a wide range of organizations and people that want to improve their safety and security on the Internet. Using Tor can help you anonymize web browsing and publishing, instant messaging, IRC, SSH, and other applications" and "aims to defend against traffic analysis, a form of network surveillance that threatens personal anonymity and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security. The purpose of AFoS is to allow people to discuss anything without fear of being traced, therefore being free of expressing their own opinions. In many areas of the world, oppositors are chased by police forces and/or by the mainstream public opinion.
AFoS is a place to avoid that, and the anonimity it provides is NOT meant to pursue or encourage illicit activities.
To access AFoS, you need to have access to the Tor network. The fastest way to access it is to install Vidalia (http://vidalia-project.net/); it's a package - available for MacOS X, Linux and Windows - that installs Tor and Privoxy.
The Windows version also contains a Firefox extension to quickly enable and disable browsing through the Tor network with a click. Otherwise, you simply have to set your browser to use 127.0.0.1:8118 as an HTTP proxy and 127.0.0.1:9050 as a SOCKS server.
Once you have everything ready, go to http://36ppoclfuecbbvjh.onion. That strange address is the address of AFoS. It is perfectly normal for it to take a while to find the server at first.
If, however, you receive a "domain not found" message, then something is wrong: either you have not installed Vidalia properly, or you haven't started Tor/Privoxy, or you haven't configured your browser to use them, or simply the server is having some problems. Double check everything, and if all else fails, wait a few hours and try again.
If the server isn't back within a few days, then I'm afraid it means that AFoS has died.

In questi casi è opportuno ricontrollare tutta la procedura, e se si continuano ad avere problemi è meglio aspettare qualche ora e riprovare.
Se il server continua a non essere accessibile nel giro di qualche giorno, significa che AFoS è morto.
