Paste Description for Something
Lying on my back, I couldn't breathe. My ribs were being pushed down by the old hag.
Her fingers tapered into long, sharp points which dug into my skin while she sat on my ribcage, suffocating me.
Her milky eyes were wide and penetrating, almost popping out of their sockets.
The only barrier between them and me were a few strand of unkempt, gray hair falling on front of her face.
Her translucent skin stretched over her skull then hung emptily.
Her long nose pointed down to a hanging jaw, containing the abyss that may have once been her mouth.
I tried to pick my foot up off the floor but my leg just hung limply over the edge of the rigid bed in the stark, pale room. Only my eyes would move but I didn't dare to look away until I heard the clacking of a nurse's shoes outside the door gradually become louder. In that quick glance, the old hag had vanished.
My chest lifted to allow a current of cool morning air to flow through me, awakening my body. As soon as I could move, I scrambled to press my back against the wall. The clacking stopped as Nurse Jenny entered the room to usher me out.
"Up you get. Go on, disappear for the day."
Ever since they cut mental health funding the ward was only open during the night. I had nothing to do but sit on the sidewalk, annoying strangers for money to buy booze if I didn't want to taste the nameless, odorless sludge the homeless shelter called food.
WORDS FOR ROOM: blank, colorless, bare, impersonal, cold, sterile
